Can you describe your everyday work in a few sentences?
As Senior Operator, my day starts with announcing internally which herbs we have to package for a customer. I prepare the production process and provide information for the operators. Once production is underway, I monitor this to ensure everything is running smoothly. I continue to oversee the production process, train new team members and ensure that the company’s rules and standards are being adhered to.
What do you enjoy most about your role as Senior Operator?
I love the start of the day. It’s always exciting with many challenges. Every day is different!
In what way does Vitacress Real stand out as an employer compared to other companies you’ve worked for?
Definitely the company’s focus on personal growth. I started out as a production worker, progressed to Operator and am now a Senior Operator. The English course I took with a group of colleagues was also really valuable. The working conditions here are definitely better than at other companies.
What was your best ever day at work?
That would definitely be the day I was promoted to Senior Operator. I really felt appreciated.
In what way do you feel your employer is invested in you?
Vitacress Real organises activities that help you to maintain a good work-life balance. Work hard, play hard! It’s a lot of fun. For instance, last year we had a great outing to the Christmas market in Valkenburg and we’re looking forward to a day trip to the Toverland amusement park. During Christmas, which is the peak season for us since everyone is using fresh herbs, we work really hard. But the company always arranges great food and we even have a DJ to bring a party atmosphere to the production department.
