Marketing & Communication
Renée Peeters
A creative perfectionist, snack enthusiast and organisational expert, Renée tells you about her work at Vitacress Real.

Can you describe your everyday work in a few sentences?
When I explain my role at Vitacress Real to my children (aged 10 and 8 years), I tell them that I make sure that as many people as possible can enjoy fresh herbs. This involves, for example, creating new concepts for the use of herbs, ensuring that our packaging is visually appealing, selecting the right produce range for our target audience and developing communication materials for customers and end users.
What do you enjoy most about your role as Marketing Manager?
The best part of working at Vitacress Real is the breadth of the role and the diversity of the tasks. I am responsible for product management, category management, branding, concept development, sustainability and communication (internal, corporate and the employment market). No two days are the same! One moment I’m analysing sales data with Kris, our Category Manager, the next I’m writing content for our website and then preparing for a customer meeting alongside our Sales Manager Tom.
What was your initial perception of Vitacress Real and how did it differ once you became part of the team?
To be honest, I’d never heard of Vitacress Real when we moved from Amsterdam to Venlo six years ago. Maybe it was a bit of ‘Amsterdam arrogance’, but I didn’t expect to find such a vision and values-driven organisation in Venlo. The company’s employee-centred approach and its core values #WeGrow, #WeCare, #WeInspire and #WeSmile really do guide everything we do here.
What was the most memorable moment at work over the past few months?
The moment I celebrated my 5th anniversary at Vitacress Real. While other companies might not make a big deal about a 5-year milestone, it’s extra special for us as we’ve only been around for 10 years! We don’t mark it following a ‘standard procedure’ but with a heartfelt, personal moment and a thoughtfully chosen gift. That moment truly warmed my heart – it’s times like these when you feel appreciated, even more than usual, and you feel so happy to be part of this wonderful team.
What is your proudest achievement?
I am proud of the children’s book that I have written: ‘Rose & Mary and the giant herb adventure’. Writing a children’s book has always been on my bucket list, and when I mentioned this, I was given the opportunity to tick it off my list. The book introduces children to the world, flavours and benefits of fresh herbs in a fun and engaging way. It’s an exciting, herb-filled story with tasty recipes and fun activities.
